The distinct aroma and qualities of Lavender--its healing power, both physical and spiritual--have been central to many cultures around the world for thousands of years, from the Biblical Holy Land through Medieval and Renaissance times in Europe. Over the years, this powerful herb has been used as a holy safeguard against evil by early Christians, for bathing, cooking and perfume by the ancient Romans, to anoint feet, to treat migraine headaches, to make laundry fragrant, to fill royal pillows, to ensure passion when placed under the beds of newlyweds, and to protect against a variety of diseases. More recently, scientific studies have provided empirical evidence for some of these claims--for example, by finding that inhaling lavender increases alpha wave activity in the brain, inducing relaxation.

For us, the scent of lavender evokes the breezes of Provence blowing off the Mediterranean and across the fields of herbs.  For our soap formula, we've created a blend of Lavender and a few floral and herbal scents, with an infusion of dried marjoram for texture, resulting in a soap that is calming, soothing and a pleasure to all of your senses. 

Greenberry's Lavender Blend bar comes in one of two square Celtic Windowpane designs, with each bar weighing just under 4 oz.  True to its name, this bar is a luscious lavender color, and is made from a shea butter base providing a wonderful soft lather that is good for hands, face or body washing.
