Tibetan Herbal Aspic: Gardeners Soap (~ 4 oz)
Greenberry's Tibetan Herbal Aspic is a one-of-a-kind natural soap experience that
evokes the mystical mind-and-body connections of Asian culture as well as the vibrant scents of the Silk Road and the Himalayans.
Created from teas, herbs and spices gathered from all over the world, this extraordinary soap is my favorite both in texture
and aroma of all our soaps. The base scent is made from a rare tea blend from Palais des Thés in Paris, inspired by
an ancient recipe created in a Tibetan monastery called Thé des Moines (Tea of the Monks). Legend tells how the monks
would prepare this blend of teas, plants and flowers in the greatest of secrecy, allowing the leaves to soak for several days
to achieve the rich and extraordinary scent and flavor. You may also find strands of precious saffron bought at the grand
bazaar in Kashgar, a variety of herbs and spices bought at Istanbul's Egyptian Spice Market, and a few seeds for texture.
Made from an olive oil base to allow for a clear suspension of its ingredients,
this soap demands a simple shape to reflect the stoicism of Tibetan monastic life (a rectangle of approx. 4 oz), yet the sensuous
aroma and texture are anything but monastic and evoke many earthy delights. The color is a warm brown created by the tea,
and the texture is provided by a mix of gentle natural spices and small seeds. This
soap is available in other designs by special order.
